Introducing Salem Chiropractor Dr. Bradley Shepherd
My wife wanted me to be a “real” doctor…so that’s what I did…
I never was a huge fan of drugs or medications. In fact, I hated any type of pill—I simply had a hard time swallowing them, and I could always do without the side effects of drugs. I knew there was a better way to solve my health issues. Chiropractic offers a better way to health—a natural way—with out drugs, pills, or surgery.
I attended Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Missouri. It was an intense program that crunched five academic years of education into three and a half years. I was shocked when I found out that I was going to have more school hours under my belt than if I had attended any medical school. I was pleasantly surprised at the knowledge the school had to offer me. Despite all the hard work, I am grateful for the education that I got. I gained a much greater knowledge of the human body and all of the processes that are involved in keeping you and me alive, and in good health. I learned all about the nervous system and its role in health and healing. I acquired a greater respect for the body and its ability to heal itself. I am grateful for all of the instructors that helped me along the way.
My desire is to help as many people as possible. I try to look at the body as a whole as it comes to disease. I believe it is better to find the cause of disease, and treat the individual who is suffering, rather than simply cover up symptoms (that’s what drugs are for). I strongly believe in the prevention of disease—I mean, why wait until you feel horrible to get help if you can avoid suffering in the first place? My greatest experiences are those with children. I have seen infants suffering from colic, constipation, and ear infections that I have been able to help naturally and quickly with chiropractic—no pills needed.
I have a beautiful wife and two fantastic children. I met my wife in Boulder, Colorado where we soon married. My second love in life (after my family, of course) is playing guitar and writing music—those activities make hours seem like minutes when I really get into it.
I typically get adjusted every two weeks to help keep myself in tip-top shape. Eating balanced meals also helps me feel well and stay healthy. Getting plenty of rest helps me feel rejuvenated—I like about eight hours a night, so I typically make it a priority—the old adage is true—early to bed, early to rise, makes one healthy, wealthy, and wise.
No matter what your problem, I will work with you toward a healthy, natural, and safe solution. If you don’t have any health problems, I would love to help you prevent disease.
